I’m from abroad, can I have an annuity account with Bright?
That is possible, but please note: to open an annuity account (annuity = individual pension) you are required to pay income tax in the Netherlands. If you do not pay this (in the Netherlands), you cannot open an annuity account with us, but you can build up assets.
You do this by opening an investment account with us. The money you deposit in an investment account is freely available and investing is done in the same way as we would with your pension account. The disadvantage is that you cannot deduct the deposit from the income tax. That is because you do not pay income tax (in the Netherlands), but also because only what you deposit towards your pension yields tax benefits.
